#momhack MONDAY!

October 2, 2017

If you've ever tried to inadvertently grow a potato garden in your kitchen, raise your hand. Me! Me! I have, repeatedly. This week's #MOMHACK is to keep those potatoes from sprouting! I know potatoes get a bad rap, we all have been told to run from the starches but potatoes are pretty rad. Potatoes are a very good source of vitamin B6 and a good source of potassium, copper, vitamin C, manganese, phosphorus, niacin, dietary fiber and pantothenic acid. 1 medium potato has about 163 calories, 0.2 grams of fat, 0 cholesterol and almost 5 grams of protein, not to mention potatoes are rather cheap and hearty so they are a great addition to any meal. To keep your potatoes from sprouting baby potatoes, store them with apples. That's it? Yes, that's it! It doesn't get much easier than that!
